Junior & Minis Softball Kit Looks Great!

Our most recent funding application included the Junior Development and Minis Squads within the Guernsey Softball Club. We supported them by subsidising the cost of providing them with new team kit for the upcoming season. A few of the trustees recently visited one of their training sessions to see the new competition kit in action.

Tom Martel tried the sport at his Secondary School and enjoyed it so much he attends training every week up at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre. Abi has been playing for over 2 years and was inspired to take part in the sport because of her family. Both her mum and dad used to play and all of her cousins play on a regular basis.

Ethan played at school and his talent was recognised by his teacher who encouraged him to attend training, and that was 2 years ago. Ethan also highlighted “it’s really good fun, an enjoyable way to start your Saturday morning and everyone here has a laugh with each other so come along”.

Luke and Liam both highlighted that they have a laugh at their softball training sessions. Luke highlighted he has met lots of new people whilst playing the sport and said “you have fun, there are lots of laughs and it will get you fit”. Liam on the other hand highlighted that he first tried the sport when he was 5, a good 9 years ago, as it was his mum that got him  into the sport. He enjoys meeting new people and said “it’s good fun and we have a laugh”.

Tom, 13, first tried the sport at his Secondary School and now regularly attends training on Saturday mornings and it looking to get another home run, as he has only scored 1 to date. Jacob, 12, on the other hand was introduced to the sport by his mum and is now using her glove at training. He encouraged anyone thinking about having a go at the sport to “come along, get involved, have a bit of fun on a Saturday morning and it gets you ready for the rest of the day”.
